King-Prebiotics® FOS is short-chain β-D-fructans which are derived from sucrose. They have a degree of polymerization of 2 to 5 with fructosyl unit bonding. Comparing with other types of fructans, short-chain FOS can be utilized by health-beneficial bacteria more efficiently, and have less flatulence concern.

Low Water Activity Series

Water activity (Aw) of food is the ratio between the vapor pressure of the food itself, when in a completely undisturbed balance with the surrounding air media, and vapor pressure of distilled water under identical conditions. Most microbes do not grow at Aw below 0.6. Therefore, Aw is an important indicator for food safety and food quality. Besides, low Aw could also offer shelf life extension of dry probiotics products.
